This is a great and detailed hand-carved wood sculpture, depicting a night watchman with a lantern and horn. In regard to the information stamped at the bottom of the sculpture. This gegorous art piece was hand craved by a female wood craver (Holyschnityerin in German) called Emilia Rifesser from St Ulrich, Gröden (in German) / ORTISEI (in Italian). Her initials R.E. had been craved at the right side at the bottom (in photo).

Made of linden wood due to the light color of wood in the drilled hole at the pedestal of the sculpture (in photo). It is beautifully carved and detailed.
