Entirely made of wood.
There is a handle at the top for easy carrying of the box.
It is opened at the top of the knobs by folding up the side panels.
There are two compartments, both are divided into four small compartments by a wooden cross. The wooden cross can easily be removed as required.
The upper parts can be opened to the side like wings. This leads to the lower, large compartment. There are also two extra rectangular dividers and one small box given.
All kinds of sewing utensils can be stored here. It is also well suited for storing jewelry, make up or various bits and pieces.
DRGM stands for Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster = registered design of the German Reich.
This was used probably from before the World War I until the end of World War II. Though some companies put it D.R.G.M. stands for "Deutsches Reiches Gebrauchs Musterschutz" - meaning protected patented design under the Reich Government.
DRGM is often mistaken for a brand, but the initials stand for Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchmuster (see also it's predecessor: DBGM) and is some kind of 'copyright' patent protection mark, like a Utility Model. It is very similar to the patent, but usually has a shorter term -often 6 to 15 years- and less stringent patentability requirements. DRGM has been used from 1891 to approx. 1945
